Go-Labs is a growing-up software development company, which has quickly positioned itself in the national and international market, it offers application development services for mobile devices, websites and consulting. The company does not have a good project management process. Currently the projects are managed through expert judgment of the most experienced collaborators, which lead to the use of different tools and management mechanisms in the projects, there were identified time issues in schedules, rework, monitoring and control issues, absence of lessons learned documentation, and also an inefficient definition of quality metrics and acceptance criteria. The general objective of the project is the design a methodological proposal for the management of software projects in the company Go-Labs, which allow the standardization of the management processes, based on the PMBOK guide and the Software Extension, to achieve this objective, applied, descriptive and transversal research was used, supported by research techniques like questionnaires, interviews and documentary review. The main sources of information correspond to the company's collaborators, clients and the documentation stored in the project management systems, also consider a valuable source of information the PMI literature such as the PMBOK guide and the Software Extension. The Go-Labs project’s methodology is the main product, this guide is based on the diagnosis of project management, the consolidated good practices identified in the PMBOK’s Software Extension, the nature and culture of the organization. It offers the necessary tools, templates and processes to carry out the adequate management of the knowledge areas. The company needs to improve project management, specifically on knowledge areas as risk and quality. It is recommended to invest in PMI training, also opt for certifications for Project Managers and to take ownership of the proposed project management methodology, starting with the implementation strategy.
