dc.descriptionThe Biotechnology Research Center (CIB), created in 1994, is the research unit of the School of Biology of the Costa Rica Institute of Technology. As a research entity, CIB offers a series of specialized technical services, which resulted from the knowledge gained through a growing number of research projects developed on three research fields: Plant Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology and Biomedical Applications. During the 25 years of its operation, researchers at CIB have shown a strong commitment towards creating science and technology with national and international impact. Additionally, the different cooperation initiatives between this center and other institutions are a clear example of the growth dynamics of this research unit, both in the number of projects and their scientific level, thus becoming a reference at national and regional levelen-US
dc.descriptionEl Centro de Investigación en Biotecnología (CIB), creado en 1994, es la unidad de investigación de la Escuela de Biología del Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica. Como ente investigador, el CIB ofrece a la sociedad una serie de servicios técnicos especializados, como producto del conocimiento obtenido a lo largo de una cantidad creciente de proyectos de investigación, que se han desarrollado enfocados en las tres áreas de investigación: Biotecnología Vegetal, Biotecnología Ambiental y Aplicaciones Biomédicas. Durante los 25 años de su funcionamiento, los investigadores han mostrado un fuerte compromiso para generar ciencia y tecnología con impacto a nivel nacional e internacional. Adicionalmente, las diferentes iniciativas de cooperación entre este centro y otras instituciones son una muestra clara de la dinámica de crecimiento de esta unidad de investigación, tanto en el número de proyectos como en el nivel de los mismos, siendo referente a nivel nacional y regional.es-ES
