Nuevo centro turístico y de artesanías CASEM, en el sector de Santa Elena, Monteverde

Abstract

El presente proyecto tiene como objetivo generar una propuesta arquitectónica para la cooperativa de artesanas en la comunidad de Monteverde CASEM, la cual fortalezca la cohesión comunal entre artesanos y locales. Además se busca representar la identidad de la cultura de Monteverde, rescatando los valores de conservación y ecología para así establecerse como un atractivo cultural en la zona. El anteproyecto se desarrolla en un lote vacío propiedad de CASEM, el cual se encuentra en un punto turístico estratégico de camino hacia la Reserva de Santa Elena, uno de los más grandes atractivos naturales del lugar. Además de generar un atractivo cultural de importancia y de aportar a la identidad de la comunidad, el nuevo centro de CASEM también busca empoderar al grupo de artesanas que conforman la cooperativa, de incentivarlas y de apoyar el crecimiento de su negocio, el cual les brindará nuevas oportunidades y más desarrollo.

The project at hand has as a main objective to present an architectural proposal for CASEM, a cooperative based in Monteverde that focuses on the production of art crafts. This proposal will seek to strengthen the cohesion as a community between artisans and locals in general. Monteverde’s cultural identity will be well represented by following strong values of conservation and ecology hence making the project a strong cultural focal point in the region. The draft project will be developed in an existing empty property owned by CASEM which is located in a strategic touristic point on the way to the Santa Elena Reserve, one of the most popular natural attractions in the area. In addition to generating a popular cultural attraction and strengthening the community’s identity, the new CASEM center will also serve to empower, encourage and support the group of craftswomen who are part of the cooperative by aiding in the development of their business. This will in return bring new opportunities and more growth to the cooperative and the region as a whole.
