Propuesta de diseño urbano y arquitectónico para un Centro de Atención Integral de Salud para el Cantón de la Unión de Cartago.

Abstract

Health is a very important topic for individuals and for the society, for that reason the institutions and organizations in charge of looking after it, must pay attention to the new community demands. In the last 20 years, the canton of La Unión de Cartago has showed an important urban growth and population rise that produce some effects into the community services. That expansion of the city and demography brings more demands in quantity, quality and resolution level of health services, which can not be faced in the actual conditions. This project, responding to the request of the social actors of La Unión community, expounds an urban and architectural design for an Integral Health Attention Center solving the necessities of a new public health center with the capacity to attend more patients with a higher level of specialization. Besides, the project contemplates the Integral Health Attention Model, applied by Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social, that strengthens the development of individuals, the community, the families and the environment.
