Plan de movilidad en el casco central del distrito de Tres Ríos del cantón de La Unión de Cartago

Abstract

Este proyecto busca desarrollar un plan de movilidad en el distrito central de Tres Ríos, para facilitarle a los peatones, ciclistas el transito libre e inclusivo. Por medio del uso de conceptos de urbanismo, herramientas para la recolección de datos en campo y el análisis de la infraestructura vial, se pretende identificar los agentes que impiden la movilidad segura e inclusiva; y las zonas que presentan mayor afectación. Los objetivos para la ejecución del proyecto se basan en un estudio que permita identificar los usos de suelo, así como las características de los peatones, ciclistas, vehículos y las condiciones físicas de la red vial del área de estudio. Los datos obtenidos se podrán comparar con los problemas viales detectados y desarrollar una propuesta que mejore la infraestructura vial existente; y el tema de movilidad. Los principales aspectos por mejorar están relacionados con el ordenamiento en la infraestructura vial vehicular especialmente en la cantidad de espacios utilizados como parqueos, así también, la falta de mantenimiento en las calles, avenidas, aceras y señales de tránsito. Los niveles de servicio indican que la implementación de una infraestructura ciclista genera demoras que actualmente no afectan en el flujo del tránsito vehicular, en las intersecciones analizadas.

This project seeks to develop a mobility plan in the central district of Tres Ríos, to facilitate free and inclusive transit for pedestrians and cyclists. Through the use of urban planning concepts, tools for field data collection and analysis of the road infrastructure, it aims to identify the agents that impede safe and inclusive mobility; and the areas that are most affected. The objectives for the implementation of the project are based on a study to identify land uses, as well as the characteristics of pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles and the physical conditions of the road network in the study area. The data obtained will be compared with the road problems detected and a proposal will be developed to improve the existing road infrastructure and mobility. The main aspects that need to be improved are related to the organization of the vehicular road infrastructure, especially the number of spaces used for parking, as well as the lack of maintenance of streets, avenues, sidewalks and traffic signals. The levels of service indicate that the implementation of a cycling infrastructure generates delays that currently do not affect the flow of vehicular traffic at the intersections analyzed.
