Abstract
The purpose of this project was the creation of an operational proposal (in terms of pressures and velocities), based on the characteristics found in the simulation of the distribution system of drinking water (SDA) of Santa Elena and Cerro Plano de Monteverde. This was created and executed a hydraulic model based on information from the original construction plans and improvements that have been announced (some of these improvements are not implemented at the time of the project). Besides that currently unknown SDA operational mode. This project started with debugging features and attributes of space, then was assigned to the average demand model and finally evaluated numerically, with the creation of three scenarios based on the specific hydraulic found. Based on the results of the simulation of the SDA, we recommend placement of 55 control valves: of which 23 are pressure reducing, where a 65.22% of them have a setpoint of 20 m, 29 limiting flow where 24.32% of them have a setpoint of 12 l / s, and 3 pressure Sustaining with setpoints 60, 62 and 72 m.
