Abstract
The use of biotechnology in agriculture has been a great tool to help the farmer to have greater productivity and quality, in addition to achieving a sustainable environment. A number of international mechanisms have been established to assess the food safety of these products. El uso de la biotecnología en la agricultura ha sido una gran herramienta para ayudar al agricultor a tener mayor productividad y calidad, además de lograr un ambiente sostenible. Se han establecido diversos mecanismos internacionales para evaluar la inocuidad alimentaria de éstos productos.
