Abstract
The project was developed in Feilo Sylvania, Costa Rica, a manufacturing company of lamps and luminaires in Pavas, San José and consisted in developing an energy audit of level II with the aim of achieving a saving of 15% of the energy of the company, all this under the procedure that dictates the standard ISO 50001 energy management systems. In energy assessment, it´s analyzed the consumption of electricity, LPG and water as input of production, as well as is developed a baseline of their consumption through the historical ones of the year 2016 and data updated to February 2017, with the objective of power compare future measurements, to monitor, assess, and apply continuous improvement in energy performance of resources. With the diagnosis of the current situation it determines that compressors represent the largest energy spending of the plant, moreover the paint area holds the greatest load of consumption, since its electrical equipment are some of the major consumers of electricity, also represents the biggest load of compressed air, furthermore incurred is this area at the highest expense of LPG and water. Improvement proposals consist of: change of lighting by LED technology, shutdown of loads out of its operation, replacement of engines for a few more efficient, improvements in the change of operation of compressors and a replacement of compressor with a new one with demand load modulation technology. It is possible to propose the ECO found, with their economic analysis and their impact on the environment, resulting in a saving of 24% of real consumption, which is equivalent to 252 440 kWh, ₡ 33.234.775 and the non-emission of 9,6 Tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, per year.
