Parque ecológico cementerio metropolitano
Resumen
Cemeteries are an urban service that has not been modernized since its creation, today we maintain the same typologies of the nineteenth century for contexts and cities with requirements very different from those of the time.
For various reasons, at different times of the development of cities, cemeteries were increasingly relieved to the periphery. This, coupled with elements of culture, such as fear of death, make the cemetery take on a negative significance for many people. Excluding Day of the Dead, cemeteries are less and less visited every day.
We are facing a new paradigm where the human being considers how he wants to be treated after his death, taking into account environmental and social aspects. New alternatives are being developed to traditional burials. What will happen to the existing cemeteries once their useful life and space ends? Will there be cemeteries after changes in the ways of transforming corpses?
This document will make a historical review of the cemeteries to understand its current situation and its relationship with the urban context. Likewise, the concept of re-signification of funeral spaces will be studied in order to approach an ideal model of a cemetery not only for the dead but for the enjoyment of the living.
