| dc.description | Latin America and the Caribbean are witnessing in 2021 the struggles "against all systems of domination". This expression was raised by Elisa Loncon, Mapuche leader, on July 4, 2021 after being elected as president of the Constitutional Convention in Chile to draft a new Magna Carta, and with it, eradicate the legacy of the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet from Chile. In recent history, these struggles were originated, first, by the high school student rebellion of the "Penguins" in October 2019 but which has a precedent of more than three five years and then, by other social movements that led to a process to draft a new constituent. This expression, in my opinion, synthesizes the historical struggle of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean against racism, genocide, slavery, patriarchy, phallocentrism, androcentrism, the capitalocene seen from the approach of the unequal world-ecology (Moore 2013a, 2013b, 2020; Navarro and Machado, 2020) and the coloniality of power, knowledge and nature. Theoretically, this editorial is approached from critical theory and methodologically, through literature review and dialogue with social activists and academics of the continent that allow me to make a brief review of the core conflicts of a few countries in the region. In these pages I hope to show different forms of resistance and creativity to re-found and propose alternatives to the long-standing modern colonial world system -more than 500 years old. | en-US |
| dc.description | América Latina y el Caribe asisten en el 2021 a las luchas “en contra de todo sistema de dominación”. Esta expresión fue planteada por Elisa Loncon, lideresa Mapuche, el 4 de julio de 2021 luego de ser elegida como presidente de la Convención Constitucional en Chile para redactar una nueva carta magna, y con ella, erradicar la herencia de la dictadura de Augusto Pinochet de Chile. En la historia reciente, estas luchas se originaron, primero, por la rebelión estudiantil secundaria de los “Pingüinos” en octubre de 2019 pero que tiene como antecedente más de tres quinquenios y; luego, por otros movimientos sociales que desembocaron en un proceso para redactar una nueva constituyente. Esta expresión, a mi criterio, sintetiza la lucha histórica de los pueblos desde América Latina y el Caribe contra el racismo; el genocidio; la esclavitud; el patriarcado; el falocentrismo, el androcentrismo, el capitaloceno visto desde el enfoque de la ecología-mundo desigual (Moore 2013a, 2013b, 2020; Navarro y Machado, 2020) y; la colonialidad, del poder, del saber y de la naturaleza. Teóricamente, este editorial es planteado desde teoría crítica y metodológicamente, a través de la revisión bibliográfica y el diálogo con activistas sociales y académicos del continente que me permiten realizar un sucinto repaso por los conflictos medulares de unos cuantos países de la región. En estas páginas espero evidenciar diferentes formas de resistencia y creatividad para refundar y proponer alternativas frente al sistema mundo moderno colonial de larga data -más de 500 años. | es-ES |
