The essay addresses the pictorial work of the contemporary Ukrainian artist Mykola Kuryliuk through the commentary on two of his most recent acrylics: Augmented reality 73 and Augmented reality 100, both from 2023. The objective of the research is to establish in what sense the pop- Kuryliuk’s aesthetic, whose icon is undoubtedly the astronauts, could be interpreted, in the midst of post-postmodernism, as beautiful art and what would be the keys to this consideration. To do this, Kant’s aesthetic perspective and several updated publications on contemporary art are used as a theoretical foundation. Finally, what is seen in Kuryliuk’s works, and that is what has been meant with the concept of pop-aesthetics and with the allusion to a style that randomly mixes surreal and pastel tones, but also remains of lampoons, the date of man’s first step on the Moon and a hypothetical cover of VOGUE, and, all this, in front of sidereal space, is that such ramblings of the imagination about the beauty in nature, can be extended to all the beauty in the art. And this is precisely the activity of artistic genius: the proportion of a universal order that makes such beauty possible.El ensayo aborda la obra pictórica del artista ucraniano contemporáneo Mykola Kuryliuk mediante el comentario de dos de sus acrílicos más recientes: Augmented reality 73 y Augmented reality 100, ambos de 2023. El objetivo de la investigación es establecer en qué sentido el estilo pop-estético de Kuryliuk, cuyo ícono indudablemente son los astronautas, podría interpretarse, en plena post-posmodernidad, como arte bello y cuáles serían las claves de esta consideración. Para ello, se recurre como fundamento teórico a la perspectiva estética de Kant y a varias publicaciones actualizadas sobre el arte contemporáneo. Por último, lo que se ve en las obras de Kuryliuk, y eso es lo que se ha querido decir con el concepto de pop-estética y con la alusión a un estilo que mezcla aleatoriamente tonos surrealistas y pastel, pero también restos de pasquines, la fecha del primer paso del hombre en la Luna y una hipotética portada de VOGUE, y, todo esto, enfrente del espacio sideral, es que tales divagaciones de la imaginación sobre la belleza en la naturaleza, pueden extenderse a toda la belleza en el arte. Y esta es precisamente la actividad del genio artístico: la proporción de un orden universal que hace posible tal belleza.
