| dc.description | Se realizó un estudio con el propósito de describir las cadenas de producción agrícola inherentes a tres organizaciones rurales y las características de los agricultores que las conforman, así como identificar las diferentes relaciones que se dan en el ámbito productivo entre los asociados dentro de sus organizaciones y las estructuras de red subyacentes. Las organizaciones estudiadas fueron: Asociación de Productores Agropecuarios de los cantones de Acosta y Aserrí (ASOPROAAA), Asociación de Familias Orgánicas de los Cerros Caraigres (AFAORCA) y Asociación de Apicultores de la Región Caraigres (APICARAIGRES), ubicadas en los cantones de Acosta, Aserrí, Desamparados, León Cortés y Corralillo, al sur de San José. Para cumplir con los objetivos, la caracterización de las tres organizaciones se hizo utilizando parámetros descriptivos y se tomó en cuenta una serie de variables, entre las que se citan: características personales, características de producción y características financieras. Para obtener la información, se hizo una encuesta a la totalidad de los asociados a AFAORCA y APICARAIGRES y se aplicó el mismo instrumento a una muestra de los asociados de ASOPROAAA, de acuerdo con sus respectivas proporciones. En este artículo se describen las condiciones de las tres agrocadenas inherentes a estas organizaciones y las principales características de las unidades productivas, como el tamaño, los niveles productivos y la comercialización de los productos. Los resultados sobre las características de los agricultores y los vínculos, con los cuales se conforman los tejidos sociales y las estructuras de estas redes, se dejan para otras publicaciones. | |
| dc.description | This paper describes a study of agricultural production chains inherent in three rural organizations and the farmers’ characteristics that shape them. Also, it was possible to identify the different relationships that exist in the production environment between partners within their organizations, as well as the underlying network structures that occur in that domain. The studied organizations corresponded to Agricultural Producers Association of the cantons of Acosta and Aserrí (ASOPROAAA), The Association of Organic Families of Caraigres Hills (AFAORCA) and the Association of Beekeepers of the Caraigres Region (APICARAIGRES) all these located in the cantons of Acosta, Aserrí, Desamparados, León Cortés and Corralillo, to the south of San José, Costa Rica. In order to meet the objectives, the three organizations were characterized by applying descriptive parameters taking a number of variables into account. Among these variables, personal, production and financial characteristics were identified. A survey was conducted to all the associates of AFAORCA and APICARAIGRES and the same instrument to a sample of ASOPROAAA associates, according to their respective proportions. In this article, conditions inherent in the three agricultural organizations chains are described, as well as the main characteristics of the production units, such as size, production levels and product marketing.
