Desarrollo de un sistema de comunicación redundante para las estaciones del AYA (Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados)
Resumen
Control and monitor remote processes is an industry trend, since make an operator get updated information from one or more running processes at the same time from different places, but when these processes are isolated a lot of kilometers between then. There are different ways to carry this information to operator. For example, radiofrequency and internet links.
The Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (AYA) have the mission of bringing potable water accesses. Also, this institution counts with information station located throughout the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM). Those station have monitor and control systems in pumped centers, water tanks, residual water treatment plants and other ones. At this point its important stand out the communication function and heavy communication systems can offer to these important processes.
This document shows the design and implementation of a redundant communication system which uses radio and internet, then it is transparent to the current communication system by using an external processing system that acquires the data and sends it simultaneously by the radio and internet channels.
