Diseño de un prototipo de sistema de control automatizado para una silla de ruedas orientado al transporte autónomo de personas con cuadriplejia o parálisis cerebral
Resumen
This document details the design and implementation of a prototype of automatic control for a wheelchair, oriented to the autonomous transport of patients with cerebral palsy and quadriplegia. This is an idea promoted by the Laboratory Innovation Lab of Intel Costa Rica Components; in its search for technology and innovation development, entering into different fields from those that the company specializes and more important, that have a character of social commitment and continuous improvement of the quality of life of the user. The purpose of the project is to create an automated speed control system for wheelchair motors by commands or sound patterns. The selection of this type of control input as it is the voice or sounds is due to the fact that people with the aforementioned type of disease, although in a general level the involvement of the motor of the body occurs, the voice is a factor that is not affected in its totality or partially, therefore, it is a way for them to control their mobilization through this faculty.
Due to special conditions given in the laboratory, the real-scale implementation of the subsystem was left in a selection model, so the implementation of this model was carried out on a small scale. The approach of the project was visualized by means of the division of the total system into subsystems such as: subsystem of electric motors, subsystem of sound patterns and the system in charge of the integration of the previous subsystems, the control subsystem; each one reflected as a chapter of this report.
