The general objective of this investigation focuses on improving project management in the company ElectroAval S.A. and thus contribute to a better use of their resources in the projects. This company is of Costa Rican capital and is within the group of companies categorized as SME (micro, small and medium enterprises). In the country these companies represent 75% of the business park (Muñoz, 2015), which is why it is considered of great value to support them in the generation of processes and good practices that give them a differentiating value and help them to have a growth in their activities. An evaluation of the current situation of ElectroAval S.A. through the application of the Kerzner maturity model. From this model, results were obtained that were used for subsequent analysis to identify existing gaps in the company's processes. From the analysis of gaps, a study of good practices in project management was carried out, which was used as an input to generate a proposal for a guide for the management of company projects. This proposal is based on processes and tools that standardize the management of projects in the company. In this way we seek to increase the competitiveness of the company by having clear processes in all its projects. Since the proposal seeks to generate value in the company, MS SharePoint is used as a repository for the company's projects, as this is a web tool that allows its use from different devices and different places, it brings innovation to the company.
