dc.description.abstractThisproject comesas a contributionto theInstitutoCostarricensede Electricidad(ICE) in the area ofgeotechnicalengineering, withthe goal of expandingthedesign and constructiontechniques, used in thedevelopmentof underground works. The geological conditionsinCosta Ricahavegreatvariety of changesin their curriculum,and itslithologybelongsmainlysedimentary and igneous rocks. Therefore thepresence ofthese rocksare common intunnel construction, which requireflexible methodsinthe temporary supportofthe rock, to help overcomethe various propertiesin theseclumps. The typeof media usedunderground, appliesdepending on the behaviorofthe rock, in mostof these works, the strainsthat threatenits stability, are controlledby a set ofsupportwith reinforcement. Thetemporary supportdiscussed inthis paperis intended for usein future projectsof theICE, as an alternative methodthat providesresistanceto controlconvergence intunnels, if you complywiththe structural requirementsandrequired safety. This supporthas been very usefulinother parts of theworld, andismade ofa lightweight systemorreticulatedlatticetrusses, which are embeddedin a layer ofconcretelining, obtaining as a final producta composite sectionsteel reinforcedconcrete. Recommendations forthissupport isbased on evaluationsofdifferent classification systemsgeomechanical, in the same wayto determine the loadon the support,restingtheorieswere consideredinthese systems.es
