Sistema de Gestión de Pavimentos en el Aeropuerto Internacional Daniel Oduber Quirós

Abstract

The final graduating project to apply for the degree of Licensure in Construction Engineering has an objective of implementing a tool for the Intervention of Pavements at the Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport which takes as reference Annex 14 of the Agreement between Civil Aviation and the Organization and the Costa Rican government and the related documents of the following organizations: Department of Transportation of the Federal Aviation Management and the American Society for Experiments and Materials, generating a procedure that will allow the parameters involved in the generation in the decision making according to the structural evaluation and the functionality of it. The different sections that form the methodology is mainly to revise the international applicable regulations, document and analyze the antecedents related to design and construction of pavements, to make inspection, destructive and non destructive experiments, consider the climate and traffic conditions, determine the index of Condition of the Pavements and the Structural Classification Number and finally propose a tool that will lead to a series of procedures of usage of the different parameters that will let us evaluate the present and future conditions of the pavements. The results of the investigation, the field work, the planning of the methodology will let us establish conclusions and provide recommendations.
