Resumen
The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) located in San Pedro de Montes de Oca, San José de Costa Rica, has three buildings that house data processing centers (DPC) essential for the functioning of the company. The facility has a structure of internal redundancy for power that is based distributed generators in the 3 buildings, which mainly depend on there diesel fuel tanks so it is very important for the Department of Operation and Maintenance Process Electromechanical have upgraded the level of fuel in each tank quickly and accurately. The fuel measurement system today is manual, and does not provide the necessary reliability. In parallel, the hardware present in the CPD should be subject to stable weather conditions to prevent damage to its operation, it is necessary to maintain temperature and humidity within the limits as appropriate. From the above explains why, for operation and maintenance department Electromechanical Process, priority is to implement a monitoring system that includes the level of available fuel in each tank as well as temperature and humidity present in the most crucial areas of each building. For the implementation of the monitoring, system pressure sensors were used in the fuel tanks, temperature and humidity sensors in the rooms which have continuously operated equipment as well as a Communication Network Ethernet Adapters for communication of data via network Local Area. As a main part of project design DAQFactory software was used for the development of user interface that allows you to observe these variables and alarms defined in graphical form to be easily understood by workers of the department.
