dc.description.abstractEstructuras y Construcciones Yeril S.A., is a Costa Rican company founded in 1986 and is a privately owned family business with over 15 years of experience in the market of manufacture and construction of steel structures. Because of its growth, the company has suffered methodological shortcomings in planning, monitoring and control of projects that can have implications in generating new business. Therefore, the present research problem is that the current methodology does not offer support for the organization to meet the expectations of growth and development project in the strategic perspective of the organization. This graduation project aims to provide a solution to the problem by proposing a methodology guide for improving the planning, implementation, monitoring and control of projects for Estructuras y Construcciones Yeril. The type of study to be conducted is quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive and applied with the aim to implement data collection tools such as checklists, surveys, interviews and flowcharts to provide a guide methodology that allows the company to improve its processes. It was possible to identify the current status of the organization regarding the implementation of projects, research their processes, tools and organizational structure, allowing, using this information to get a starting point for the offered proposal. The methodological guide provides a tool and processes for planning, monitoring and control of projects by adjusting the project management professional with current business needs. By applying this guide, it is possible to use a model of standardization in project management in turn providing a common way of working, allowing the company staff handling the same language across the organization. For the application of this methodology is necessary to have the support of senior management and a commitment by stakeholders to participate in every process within the chain of work for the implementation of projects. Additionally, the organization is expected to improve in the implementation of processes, tools and achieves increase their level of maturity, in order to manage the project more efficiently, allowing great benefits for the company, its employees and customers.
