Solución de computación en la nube para servicios de infraestructura basada en software libre o de código abierto

This project is focused in cloud computating, specifically in the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) systems. This document includes an evaluation of several systems to provide Infraestructure services based in Free software or Open source software such as Apache CloudStack, Eucaliptus and OpenStack. There is a selection process and the development of an IaaS solution using OpenStack covering the development of all the engineering phases required to take it into production this kind of services. The main objective is to provide a solution that can be used in an open and free way by any small and medium business from Costa Rica or any person interested in the implementation of this kind of services, in which they can find a base architecture and design and all the required details to implement it and take it into production to cover their own business needs or even to provide it as a service to other companies. The prototype created as part of this project is for demostrative purposes only and it has been created using all the guides developed during this project: Technical reference guide, implementation guide and operations guide. This guarantees all the implementation details properly work if the guides are followed step by step and also that the solution can be properly managed and supported after its implementation phase. The main contributions to this project are: 1) the evaluation of several of the existent products to provide Infrastructure as a service in the cloud. 2) A solution easy to implement and escalable based in OpenStack to provide IaaS. 3) the creation of all the required guides to implement step by step the core of an IaaS. It is clear that OpenStack is a mature and fuctional product, capable of being used by big corporations but also by small companies, both interested in IaaS services and its benefits.
