Reducción del consumo eléctrico para la independencia energética en la subestación del Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad El Coco
Resumen
Today the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) is immersed in a policy of developed of electricity generation projects through the use of renewable sources, in order to achieve the carbon neutrality certification in all yours companies, this because the government of Costa Rica in 2007 make a call to turn Costa Rica into a carbon neutral country to 2021.
Due to this, the transmission business of ICE, is studying the possibility to generate electricity using clean energy systems, for the consumption of the own service of the substation El Coco.
In the development of this project its hope to achieve the reduction in the billing of the own service, so that the implementation of the electric generation system is even more profitable. The expected reduction is at least 20% of the current consumption.
This reduction is posed by the substitution of equipment with low electrical efficiency, by some more modern and have a greater, another way to save electricity is by the control automatic of inefficient process, for example the forced cooling of the transformers.
At the end of the present project it was possible to demonstrate a saving around 70% of the current consumption, this saving is an approximate and can vary according to the use of the equipment that are in use to this.
