Civil infrastructure is one of the most important components for the development of society, especially when it comes to a developing country such as ours. That is why the Technological Institute of Costa Rica and the School of Science and Engineering of the materials have taken as a challenge the investigation of the effect that carbonation has on the materials used for the development of the same, since these must be of The best possible quality and must adequately withstand exposure to the elements over a long period of time. Taking this into account, it is crucial to be able to know how a material will behave when exposed to one of the elements that are present on public roads, which is CO2. For this it is necessary the construction of a chamber that allows to expose samples of reinforced cement to very high concentrations of CO2, to be able to observe what the behavior of the samples in these conditions. The construction of an accelerated carbonation chamber is very valuable, since it is not possible to observe how the samples react in the environment, since the process takes a long time when there is a low concentration of CO2. By means of a data acquisition system the values of CO2, relative humidity and temperature will be obtained, with these variables an automatic control system will be developed, making use of electronic expansion valves to control the flow of gases towards the camera.es
