Propuesta para el abastecimiento de agua potable mediante el diseño de un acueducto por gravedad en las comunidades de San Isidro de Tierra Grande, Isletas y Colinas, Guácimo, Limón
Abstract
The proposal of a potable water supply system for the towns of San Isidro de Tierra Grande,
Isletas y Colinas, located in the Limón province, Guácimo canton and district, was done due to
the current system had completed its life cycle, reason why it does not fulfill the inhabitants’
necessities anymore, and it does not have the capacity of increasing the inhabitants amount of
usage. That is why there was a proposal with two design options; the first one with 50 mm
diameter in the piping and 0,6 km of longitude and 100 mm of distribution and 11 km longitude.
The second option, works with the same piping diameter and same longitudes, but it has 75 mm
in the distribution diameter. Both options were available for a current population of 382
inhabitants, with a usage of 20 years from now. At this time, the population is going to be
around 628 inhabitants and the water flow is going to be 2,29 L per second. To plan these
systems and for the design, there were followed the AyA’ technical objectives, as well as the
WaterCad software to construct both models.
