Modelación hidrológica de la cuenca media del Río Abangares en Guanacaste
Abstract
A hydrological model is a useful tool for the management of water resources and decision making at the basin level as well as local government. In this work, the efficiency of the HBV-light model was applied and evaluated using the hydrometeorological data series of the stations located in the middle part of the Abangares River Basin for a period of time comprised between the years 2015 to 2017. The data were provided by the Center for Research in Studies for Sustainable Development (CIEDES) of the University of Costa Rica. The results of the moderation were adjusted in an acceptable manner with the data observed for the basin under study. The efficiency of the model for the middle basin of the Abangares River was 0.8294 and the minimum acceptable value of 0.65. The model was something like variations of precipitation and temperature for climate change scenarios. Therefore, it was determined that the volume was awarded from the basin in the study to lower the cumulative volumes for the 2020, 2050 and 2080 scenarios with a decrease in the volume of 29% and 49% for the years 2050 and 2080, this for the conditions evaluated in this study.
