Abstract
The company Alimentos Pro-salud S.A., aims to reduce the costs of its production and as compressed air is an important input for the company, in the next project the company's current compressed air network is audited in order to detect deficiencies in the system, which can be corrected and increase the efficiency of this. Firstly, the electric costs of the compressed air production of the company were estimated and it is determined that they represent around 5% of the company's electric bill, in addition, a survey of the network was carried out to observe the characteristics of the fluid transfer. Due to the size of the industrial warehouse, the consumption was determined by areas and those considered most critical. On the other hand, it was determined that the leaks present in the network correspond to 20% and equivalent to a flow of 94.28 cfm, which must be reduced to a value of less than 5%. Subsequently, the current maximum consumption of the company is determined, which corresponds to 1150 cfm and an expansion factor of 0% is determined, as well as the maximum flows per work to calculate the percentage of expansion by area. In the redesign section, the pipe diameter was calculated for the connection of the new compressor purchased by the company, in addition to the storage tank required by the company, to reduce the working time of the compressors. Then the costs and savings generated by the energy conservation projects proposed to the company were analyzed, in order to obtain the feasibility of these and if they were in accordance with the company's project policy to proceed with its execution.
