MetadataShow full item record
The railroad to the Pacific meant for almost a century a way of living for Orotina where visitors and habitants converged and was a daily routine. When the train no longer passed through this town and new roads were opened, the established way of living has started to change and the passersby no longer enters the town, instead they bordered it. This graduation project pretends to return the urban living generated by the train using the current road dynamic through an urban regeneration as a process and using as a symbol urban portals to make the city of Orotina accessible to visitors. The main objective of the project is to make a plan based on urban regeneration for downtown Orotina using the historical and cultural potentials it has. To be able to do this, fist a diagnose must be m ade through an urban analysis and the historical background of the study area. Then a proposal of the plan is made and design specific architectural solutions to demonstrate the applicability of the plan.
