Optimización del consumo de electricidad en el Tecnológico de Costa Rica

Abstract

The objective of this project is to optimize electricity consumption at the Tecnológico de Costa Rica, which focused on the following buildings: Classrooms D5, Industrial Design K8, Student Residences J7 and Tics K1, in order to take advantage of the Opportunities and mechanisms for the rational use of the electric energy resource. At the moment the Industrial Design, Student Residences and Tics facilities are not being used since they are expected to begin their use as of the second semester of the current year so an estimate of the electrical consumption of these was realized by the installed capacity of load In each of them, unlike the previous ones the building D5 is in operation since first semester 2016, the measurement of the consumption of this one was realized by means of Fluke, which is a device that allows to make an analysis of the energy, already That when the building is in operation it is possible to estimate the load by this method. Referring as base the report of the TEC Sustainability Project, which is directed by the professor of the School of Electronics Carlos Meza and the estimated electricity consumption developed in this project determines that the greatest possibility of saving is in air conditioners, computers and illumination; So that a detailed study of these three elements in the buildings is carried out and their classification according to the most important technical characteristics in the matter of energy is carried out. Based on this information the actions that will optimize the energy consumption in these areas are studied and the return of the investment is analyzed to know the economic viability of the proposals.

El presente proyecto tiene como objetivo la optimización del consumo de electricidad en el Tecnológico de Costa Rica, cede central, el cual se enfocó en los siguientes edificios: Aulas Académicas D5, Escuela Diseño Industrial K6, Residencias Estudiantiles J7 y Escuela de Electrónica K1, con el propósito de aprovechar las oportunidades y mecanismos existentes para el uso de forma racional del recurso de la energía eléctrica. Actualmente, las instalaciones de Residencias Estudiantiles y Electrónica no están siendo utilizadas ya que se espera que comiencen su uso a partir del segundo semestre del año en curso y Diseño Industrial comenzó su uso en abril, por lo que se realizó un estimado del consumo eléctrico de estos mediante la capacidad de carga instalada en cada uno de ellos, a diferencia de los anteriores, el edificio D5 está en funcionamiento desde primer semestre 2016, la medida del consumo de este se realizó por medio del Fluke, el cual es un equipo que permite hacer un análisis de la energía, ya que al estar en funcionamiento el edificio se puede estimar la carga por este método. Referenciando como base el informe del Proyecto Sostenibilidad TEC, el cual es dirigido por el profesor de la Escuela de Electrónica Carlos Meza y el estimado del consumo eléctrico desarrollado en este proyecto, se determina que la mayor posibilidad de ahorro se encuentra en aires acondicionados, computadoras e iluminación, por lo que se realiza un estudio detallado de estos tres elementos en los edificios y se procede a su clasificación según las características técnicas más importantes en materia de energía. Con base en esta información se estudian las acciones que permitirán optimizar el consumo de energía en estas áreas y se analiza el retorno de la inversión para conocer la viabilidad económica de las propuestas.
