The research focuses on the strategy and the impact of it on the life of the organization, as a strategic measure through projects can generate a competitive advantage. The strategy through projects is known as the management of the project portfolio, a very broad concept that can be observed from different approaches and methodologies. In the management of the portfolio there are many methods to make the selection and prioritization of projects, in the research the filtering criteria are reviewed, numerical and not numerical. In addition, you can see decision models that rely on the criteria to make the selection. The process of hierarchical analysis is an important part of the selection and prioritization of projects, supported by tools such as peer comparison, which works for various media on other alternatives in a qualitative way through surveys. It is important to mention the needs to implement the use of business cases in the organization, as well as the use of alignment matrices for the discarding of projects that are not part of the impact to the strategy. The use of graphic tools for the selection of an optimal portfolio is highlighted through concepts such as the efficient frontier and the Pareto principle. The general objective of the research for the management of the company America Free Zone through a model of selection and prioritization of projects based on the strategy of the organization. This was achieved through the fulfillment of four indispensable edges for the proposal, beginning to analyze the management of the selection and prioritization process of the company's projects. America's free zone to identify opportunities for improvement in the organization. In addition, it is necessary to review the best practices for the selection and prioritization of projects to identify the state of the art based on the requirements of the company and thus can xviii determine the existing gaps between the current system and the best practices of selection and prioritization of identified projects, through a comparative analysis The result of the research, and the goal, is the proposal of a model for the selection and priority of projects to improve financial efficiency using the variables found in the research process and that is necessary according to the strategy of the organization.
