Abstract
propuestas.
A survey of electrical plans and one-line diagram of Plant 3 of Cooper Standard Cartago was carried out, and the short-circuit currents of the electrical system were identified, by a manual method with validation with the ETAP simulation software. With this, the current protections of the system were evaluated to verify the interruption capacity in a possible short circuit event scenario. In addition, the incident energy was determined, as well as the arc and electrocution protection limits, through an electric arc study in the software. The viability of the project was verified, by comparing the losses generated by the plant stoppage for one day, against the investment cost necessary to make the proposed corrections.
