Abstract
This project is an implementation of a robotic platform to perform experiments in cogni tive robotics at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence for Natural Sciences of the Techno logical Institute of Costa Rica. The problem solved was the non-existence of the equipment that allows the development of the experiments with physical robots, since there is already a simulation platform at the laboratory. The product that was developed from this project is a robotic platform composed of two THOR manipulators with a control system based on and implemented with ROS, which is the continuation of a larger project of the laboratory named OSCAR. The THOR arm was redesigned to include sensors to know the position of its joints, so that previous mobility and functions were not affected or compromised, then two arms were manufactured. The arm control system has been designed with a modular way that allows adding a wide variety of perception systems or even another arm without much effort. And through a series of experiments, the significant specifications of the tool were verified to validate its final operation.
