Evaluación fitosanitaria del vivero forestal Cachí del Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) presente en la cuenca media del río Reventazón.
Resumen
It was conducted a phytosanitary evaluation at the forest nursery in Cachi, property
of Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), which is located in the middle basin
of the Reventazón River. Symptoms of major pests and diseases in the nursery
were evaluated and described. In each case a sample of each injury was collected
and moved to the Forest Patology Laboratory of Instituto Tecnológico de Costa
Rica (ITCR), where its proper identification was made by using specialized
techniques. A total of 27 species were evaluated of these only 14 phytosanitary
pathologies were identified. Ascochyta sp. was present in four cases,
Colletotrichum sp. and Pestalotiopsis sp. in three cases, also Oidium sp. and
Phomopsis sp. were present in two cases. The most common type of injury found
in the foliage of the host plants is the necrotic area. Nine damages found in the
nursery were not identified in the laboratory, but those damages were described;
the damages are also reported in this work. The “Guapinol” (Hymenaea coubaril) is
the species that presented the highest rates of incidence and severity of the
species tested in this work.
