Abstract
The following thesis addresses the need to understand the impact of accumulated defects and damage on the structural behavior of steel bridges, aiming to clarify the connection between detected anomalies and the loadbearing capacity of such structures. To this end, a study of a beam-type railway bridge is conducted, yielding conclusions that contribute to the management of road infrastructures. Through the use of structural modeling and analysis software, deflection tests, and material characterization, a model of a structure located in the Záběhlice region, Czech Republic, is created to discern how variations in its structural integrity affect its overall performance. This project aims to compare the behavior of a steel bridge under different types of failure in various load conditions, evaluating the impact of typical damage on structural integrity. Through the analysis of data from inspections, load tests, and structural simulations, the goal is to identify discrepancies and formulate strategies to improve management and extend the durability of these structures Ultimately, a predictive model for simulating the bridge's behavior is developed, along with a report on the current state of the bridge.
